Gordon Banks - RIP

Sad to hear this morning of the passing of the great Gordon Banks aged 81
I had the pleasure of meeting him once at a Sportsman's dinner - what a genuinely nice guy

He talked about THAT save from Pele in the 1970 world cup and said as Alan Mullery walked passed, he patted him on the head and said 'try and keep hold of em Banksy!'
He said his response was best not repeated

Definitely one of the good guys, respected by all and he will never be forgotten.

Class goalkeeper. My old man took me to a testamonial match for him, at Goodison Park, after his car crash. One of few football matches I recall, from my youth. He was still pretty decent with one eye.
