GoPro HD Hero II Motorsport

Hi ranski. That footage is far more stable than the first clip, but I can't help feeling that the bumper mount footage was more exciting...

Loving Hotel California BTW!

I know what your saying about the lower bumper - although it would be nice to get some footage of my and the passenger with the swiss scenery in the foreground -

a friend is going in his TT so i will get him to mount his gopro on his bumper, obviously tailing behind the mighty Z!

I use these cameras sometimes when i have HD work to do. most frustrating thing is the noise from the case / mount clamp.

you do have to be careful of mounting down low forward facing as the dust and dirt / stones damage the camera case / lens protector.

here is some footage at low level

here is some footage from within the car

and here is some footage from a just unboxed new wearable video system (glasses)

and finally 200mph in a Noble M600

Some good footage

Bumper mount - yes I was also concerned about damaging the lens, also the flex in the bumper

On the dash is a good idea, although my windscreen has too many chips and is a fly magnet!

nice one ranski both good positions .i prefer the bumper position but every one to there own.great tuor of sutton and surrounding area

Like this Rich
Not too sure about the mount position as it seems too low and creates a rush of the road surface and looking up at cars. Took me a couple of minutes to even figure out the Minworth island.

Would be interesting to see the some footage from a higher vantage point.

Could it be attached to the passenger wing mirror, angled towards the centre of the front of the car? Wouldn't have thought there would be much flex in the mirror..

I have mine on the front. This is a shot from the lakes meet.

Was higher but removed it and placed it lower.

arh, you used one of the sticky pads

I'm a tad worried it will come away - but it looks a lot more solid than mounted on the lower bumper

I asked about that as I thought the same. I was told that as long as you leave it for 24 hours it will be fine. Works great. I removed the one I put on a bit higher. I used fishing line to saw through it then just clayed the area. Left no marks :D

the adhesive mounts are made through 3m, if they can stay on the wing of Kirby Chambliss' redbull stunt plane it'll stay stuck to the cars if mounted properly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUEZCxBcM78&feature=player_embedded

I vouch for the motorsport editiong, the heavy duty suction mount works really well, even on the side of the car by the wheel arch. I've got a couple of camera's and have made some nice vids but not on the track yet, front and back or side and top make editting more fun and the end result looks great. GoPro quality is 1st class especially the new HD in 1080p 60fps. The fish eye lense makes a dog turd look good, they're rugged little beasts and are getting quite clever. The battery life at around 2 hours is poor but you can get add ons, like the wifi backpack and remote control so you can switch it on and off and change the settings without needing to lay hands on it.

My brother once used one of the sticky mounts to stick his GoPro to a road sign to get some footage of the Red Bull celebrations they did. No matter what we tried, we could not get the mount off the sign. We tried prying it off with keys but it wouldn't budge at all. I've no idea what glue they use on those sticky mounts, but once it's on it is NOT coming off!!

Here's the vid
