Google maps

Has anyone had any success getting google maps to work on the in-car sat nav system? Or even know if its possible?

I find the traffic and re-routing capabilities so much better on google rather than the BMW system, so I end up using google maps my iPhone for navigation now. Which is a shame!

Totally agree with you - my SatNav on my phone is superior to any in car satNav I used.

However I prefer a SatNav were it has the MAP installed into the device - as Google it is internet based (however I know you can download a local version)

As I could not justify the cost of I-Drive for the few features it has.

Not possible on the e89. Bear in mind the tech is well over 7-8 years old in these cars. BMW I drive has had several iterations since that in the e89.

Its the same in the my wife's brand new fully loaded X3 35d - traffic updates are terrible in comparison to google.
