Google maps....who knew?

Pondrew

Lifer
Spaldingski
I was using Google earth to see where The Watermill is for Zedfest. As it's just up the road from Donington circuit, I had a look at that. Just for fun I dragged the street view thing over the circuit and.......it has been mapped!! :o You can drive around the circuit in the Google car :o

So I tried Silverstone...,same. You can drive the google car around Silverstone too :D

Tried Snetterton....nope

Didn't try any others TBH but wow....I never knew they had driven around racing circuits. Now I'm wondering why they did :D

Whats a Google car...?
Keep up gramps. :poke: :D
It's the car with the camera on top that shows the 'street view' on Google maps.

What's the point of that...? Plenty of dash cams showing the circuit at racing pace.

Get your car cleaned and quit the appgooglet'internetwhat'syerapptwatterfaceache bollocks.... :poke:

I was caught by the Google car years ago!!!
A mate of mine was standing outside his work when the Google car came up the road. He pulled a moony and for the next few years his blurred out lily white arse was visible for the world to see

Just looked and Cadwell park is also on there so just done a lap and and noted the corner I came off and smashed myself up a abit on the bike.
Oops

Self confessed dinosaur Sars....I don't know what Waze, Carly, Spotify, you name it are, no idea at all because I don't chuffing care...pull out an engine, rebuild, then throw it back in is my bag, anything else is white noise. 1900th century stuck in the mud...

I think it may be an Aston, as there is an Aston following the car all the way. I wonder whether the 'google car' is actually an Aston with the gubbins on the roof.
The (now known as) 'Aston' F1 team is based at Silverstone, so makes sense to me

If you look at Donington from above on earth, there is actually a race going on, or a test of some sort! It can't be a track day as all the cars look to have livery.
