Goodyear Eagle F1 or Michelin PS3 ?

Hello all

Looking to swap out my factory original RF tyres for Goodyears but spotted Michelin PS3's for £550ish mobile fitted with Kwikfit at home (which saves me hassle as I can keep my old tyres without needing to transport them).

Goodyear Eagle F1's work out at about £660 fitted at Kwikfit (£620 with the £40 cashback actually).

Anyone had experience with PS3's? I know they're a inferior tyre to the PS2 but still must be pretty decent being a part of the Pilot Sport range.

If they're no good, any other suggestions of mobile fitters who can do the Goodyear F1's at a reasonable rate?

I had Goodyear Eagle F1's on my 911.They came on it and where great but ill be honest i dont think there worth the money.
If there any over 290-300 wide then maybe they stand above the rest, but on the more common sizes 18-19" by 245-275

There isn't a "Exceptional difference" between them and Say Falken ZE914's......
Bold statement i know, i would say the grip levels are they same, wear is similar, then noise and economy, add this all up and i wouldn't bother.

Spend the difference on a long weekend in Spain

I would stick with the goodyears, but those prices are crazy.

I paid £490 for 4 godyears fotted just before Christmas, in the sizes you require. I'd shop around if I was you.

Asdatyres (local fitting to a choice of garages)

Love tyres (fitting available near Heathrow for £15 a tyre which is what I did)

Tyre traders (do home fitting or fitting near your home)

I'd agree, shop around.

No use to you but a local tyre supplier has quoted me Goodyear F1 AS 94Y each - rear @ £148 and front @ £100, so £496 all four fitted :thumbsup:
 
You can get the Goodyear F1s for less than that londonbmwguy - check out Camskill.

I had Falken ZE914 fitted in error on my Zed (instead of FK 453s). I rang the company to be told the ZE914s were touring tyres for passenger cars not for sports cars and that the 453s were the top sports tyre they produced. L managed on them fitted to the rear of my 3.0si for 8 months. . . .

I had their previous sports tyre (452s) on the rear of my 2.0 litre. I found them a confidence inspiring tyre but they wore quite quickly.

I've gone for the Goodyear F1 Eagles on the recommendation of forum members and not regretted it.

Depends how you drive your Zed and what you use your Zed for - our Zed is used primarily for pleasure and enjoying the back lanes.

Sorry have no experience of the Michelins.

I run Goodyear Eagle F1s, and have no issues at all. Granted wet weather grip isn't in line with Michelin Pilot Super Sports, but then they're a little cheaper than the Michelins.

Dry weather grip is great, wet weather is much better than the likes of Falken 452s. My mate had the 452s on his M3 and could barely get the power down in 2nd gear in the wet. The Eagle F1s are far better

The PS3s are a touring tyre - so there's no contest....
 
I had Eagle F1's on my 911 too, always found them good tyres, I've got PS3's on my CSL's and they're great, I don't know the price difference but I'd go for the cheapest, both quality tyres imo :thumbsup:

Have you got that the wrong way round Adamski?

Goodyears have amazing wet peformance compared to the supersports, but in the dry the supersports are the better tyre.
 
+1 for the F1s here too. Presume you've tried places like blackcircles and camskill?

had the goodyear f1 on my z3mr and always loved them for their looks and great grip ,pretty predictable even with the mecano rear suspension that used to let go a bit sharpish if you uncambered the rear, mid corner !!! :driving: went for the pss's on the z4mc as a more modern tyre and top of the range, and had read great reviews on them. amazed at how they grip in both wet and dry conditions, helped as well by the absolutely brilliant trick lsd on the M :thumbsup:
 
Just changed my Goodyears to Dunlop Sport Maxx RT's really impressed, just a thought
