Getting bored of harping on about them but forget the rest and go for Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas. Top top top tyre and a tread by Guigaro, what more could you ask for!
I know these tires have gotten great reviews and I would give serious consideration to them if there was a dealer anywhere near me... :(
The price is right...

Is there any Discount Tire store near you? They match Tire Rack's pricings, and their warranty is a lot better than Tire Rack's or just about every other tire shop. If you damage a tire, they give you a brand new one at no cost to you as long as it has more than 2/32" of tread left.

GP20, the nearest Vredestein dealer to me is about 75 miles away... :(
There are a few discount tire stores near by and one of them claims they can get any brand of tire that they are not a dealer for but at a premium price. There is also the issue with some of these places that I don't trust them with my rims... :!:

It gets better... :o
Doing a little research on the web... :smart:
The distributor for Vredestein tire in the US is located in Pennsylvania and less that 3 mile from my home...
However, there is not one dealer in the entire state of Pennsylvania... :headbang:

Discount tire has the PS2 ZPs. They will also charge me $60 to rebuild my TPMs. No Vredesteins though. Glad I still have some tread left as out the door price for a set of 4 for my Si will run $1500! OUCH.

Tempted by the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas now ;)

look to be around £100 per corner.

Has anyone tried the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanat on the Z?

I had them on my last car (non-Z4) and *after running them in* they turned out to be a great tyre. Very progressive on the limit in the dry, comfortable ride and excellent in the wet. Might be worth considering as a left field alternative?

Great reviews apart from the last one that said fuel economy down by 7-10% and the stiff sidewalls make them tramline??! That is only one review though, would love to hear from someone who has lived with them on a Zed.

More reviews...

apparently they wear "fast"... but then they seem to say 10,000 is fast... not sure my Goodyears lasted any longer to be honest?!

Like everyone has commented the Goodyear Asymmetrics are awesome tires and are said to grip better than the PS2's. And you can't complain about their pricings either.

However, those tires are extremely heavy. I'm talking about 28lbs to 32lbs each and that's of course unsprung weight so you know the weight makes a huge difference; they're also the furtherest things from the wheel centers so there's an even bigger impact. They're made for going 130mph~160mph on the Autobahn so grip and stability are more important than weights. It's a shame because I would've loved to try the Asymmetrics especially given how much cheaper they're compared to the PS2's, except it wouldn't make much sense for me to have the lightweight forged RGR"s only to gain the weight back with the tires and at the worst place possible.

Hmmm, interesting.

How much are the PS2 ZP's in comparison, or just the PS2 without run on flat?

I agree, seems silly to throw a load of weight onto low-weight wheels. I wonder also what they are like vs the oe Bridgestones. I bet they are not light, and that probably hurts the ride further more ontop of their very firm sidewalls!

I read a comparison report in a mag which rated GSD3s best on a 3 Series. I fitted them to my E46 330D and the difference was remarkable, esp on turn-in. Granted I was replacing new for old.

I've since replaced the Bridgestone rfts on the Z4 with F1 Asymmetrics and have been v impressed. No tramlining, skipping over bumps, smoother ride, the steering is more like the weight it should be, and turn in is sharper. Confident in the wet, thought there's slightly more give in fast bends. It feels like the car is 1" lower though.

I got them via a local small firm fitted for a little under £600. They'll be my first choice next time.
