Goodyear eagle f1 as2 comments

Thinking of getting a couple for the front of the car as it was an mot advisory lol

Does anyone have any comments positive or negative about the wear rate of these tyres?

95% of my driving is in a straight line, so they never get pushed to their limits

I've had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asyms on both BMWs for a while, they're exceptionally grippy, but rear tyre wear can be extreme if you're agressive.

The rears on my ///M went from 7mm to 3 mm in 3500 miles. I generally get about 10000 miles out of the rears on the Touring. Fronts have lasted over 15k and are still above 4mm.

I know there are a few members who have them fitted to their cars and in fact the tyres are quite popular according to a poll at the beginning of this year http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=33589&start=15&view=viewpoll No doubt those with them fitted will be able to expand and provide more info for you.

Haven't tried the new Asymmetric 2 yet, but they're supposed to be up with with the Michelin PSS and Conti SportContact5 - so I can't see them being ditchfinders

There's also supposed to be the same step-up in performance from the AS1 to the AS2 as there is between the Michelin PS2 & PSS and Conti SC3 & SC5.

Replacing all four corners with GY F1 Asy 2s on Friday, so I hope they're good. If you're not getting it done for a while, I'll keep you posted.

I found them to be cheapest from Camskills.

Were one of the best tyres I've ever had on my previous cars. No experience of them on BMWs though. Wear was good unless I'd been driving like a maniac.

Are you talking about the 'old' F1 Asymmetric, or the 'new' F1 Asymmetric 2 that the OP is asking about?

Probably the old Asyms, it's been a surprisingly long time since I bought the Z4 come to think of it.

Don't know about the new Asm's, my last set did 27k on the fronts including about 40 laps of Donington and 6 laps of the ring, and the rears did 12k including the ring work.Recommend them without question. They have great wheel protector strips too.

I'm currently wondering which tyres to get too as i've just had an advisory on my MOT. Currently have Contisport 3's which i've been very impressed with. Torn between a decent mid range like Falken 452's or top end tyres like Goodyears or Conti's again.

Ive got F1 AS2's on mine and they're Very! Grippy and good in the wet but they do tend to wear down quickly.

I fitted my new tyres, Goodyear F1 A2's in March this year, some six months later and thus over 12,000 mostly motorway miles I still have over 6mm of tread on the rears. They are softer than the Bridgestones but are nice and grippy.

I have them fitted them all round. If I had my druthers I would get the extra load version. I bought the standard load ones which are excellent but don't feel quite as sharp as the previous EagleF1As XL that I had on the zed last year. As for mileage 12000 on a 2.0 saw the F1A1s all bald (lots of corners round here).

Have them on my M OP, best tyres I've had so far in 4 years of ownership. Very grippy in the dry, confidence inspiring in the wet, far less noise and the car rides better too.

I also found out that they were far lighter than the Vreds I had fitted before.
