Goodyear Eagle F1 A5 soft sidewalls advice?

After 3 years of running Michelin PS' when they wore out I decided to try the Goodyear Eagle F1s as they were a bit cheaper and I'd read plenty of positive reviews.

I've not done that many miles on them but so far I'm pretty disappointed. The ride feels smoother on bumpy roads but there is noticeably more body roll under acceleration out of corners and twice on dual carriageways there has been a very unnerving squirm from the rear when the cars been hit by a crosswind gust. The sidewalls are so soft that when I close the door I can see the whole car wobble!

The Z4 is on 108s and stiffer B12 suspension which I imagine exaggerates the softness of the sidewalls but has anyone else experienced the same? I ran 33/36psi on the Michelins, has anyone found higher pressures work better with the Goodyears and if so what psi?

Thanks for any advice.

I run the F1 A5s at approx 33/36 on road and have had no problems like this.

I also tend to run them 32/35 hot on track too and they cope extreme well for road tyres and feel great.

They are known for having a less stiff sidewall than the Michelin PS range though.

Currently, I have Good Year Eagle F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 and they are great! All-round good tyre, I think A5 is even better.

The F1 Supersport is the tyre designed with ultimate performance in mind rather than the A5 which is more of a jack of all trades product appealing to the masses.

Having said that I'm very surprised that the A5 is found lacking on your Z4 unless it's 500BHP
