Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric- speed/load rating question.

Hi , just looking at replacing the Bridgestone run flats for Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric non run flats and have noticed that the load/speed ratings are different (based upon black circles pricing/guide.)

Bridgestone rears 255/35 R18 90W
Goodyears rears 255/35 R18 94Y

Bridgestone fronts 225/40 R18 88W
Goodyears fronts 225/40 R18 92Y

Do these differences matter? Or are the Goodyears a better rating anyway?
The car is a coupe 3.0si if that helps.

Y is a faster speed rating so all is good

I like GY F1EA so have just fitted them on the rears - but black circle are not the cheapest for these - so keep looking :wink:

Got these fitted last month. Black circles was the cheapest i could find. Spent a good month looking.

While looking blackcircles weren't necessarily the cheapest, but not far off also the tyre place where they will be fitted is across the road from my wife's place of work, plus you get the Tesco club card points so it all worked out better for us.

Hi MerBrook, How much did you pay for all 4 tyres if you don't mind me asking ?!

Shame they haven't got my Tyre size 255/45/17 in stock

Hi benv6, I paid just a smidge under £450.00 fitted etc. hope that helps.

The Load Rating difference means you need less pressure for the tyres to support the same weight. It works out about 31F and 32R. Definitely don't go as high as 33/36 however.

The ///M has non RFT tyres with a similar load rating to your new ones. BMW recommends 31/31 with a 50kg+ heavier front end, so you may even want to try 30/31.

Well, I've finally taken the advice & ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle Asymetrics; can't wait to get rid of the RFTs!
