Goodbye Z4, hello...

How is this colour?
Ordering one on Monday!
Not the 55AMG in picture though :D 250 Diesel AMG sport

To me the new SLK looks like the short dumpy sister of the SL. And while the SL might have better proportions it's still no looker. Merc has lost the plot, have you seen the rear of the new S class?

Congratulations shambolic, have you gone for red leather seats?

Just had my E350 serviced today, what a great experience that was and completely stress free and miles ahead of BMW. Arrived at 8:30 and drove into the drive in service drop off area, met by the service receptionist at the drop off area, who took the keys and then guided me straight to a table at service where I was introduced to the service team manager, advised him of a squeak, sign the job sheet and then on my way. A call two hours later to say that it's all done and come and collect.

Tenorite, with the light grey seats, I took out the red seatbelts as I thought they clashed. Roll on October/ November.
Just need to sort chipped windscreen and alloy dinks on Z before giving it back.

I haven't read any of the comments but this is the same car my brother got late last year, but in the old white which possibly is a little more off white than yours? Great car to drive, I've had my mitts on it a lot. Mid range punch on country lanes would embarrass my 3.0 si I fear, and there isn't a SINGLE RATTLE in the cabin!! Solid car. On the MPG - we were initially a bit underwhelmed to be honest but after a good few thousand miles (took about 4-5) he said he has noticed the mpg improve massively! I early got one actually before my zed, and having driven the slk recently I'm still tempted :poke:

I think the light grey seats look very good, hope you ordered the black ash trim to compliment it

I think if I went from say a Mazda MX5 to an SLK I would be over the moon, from an E89 to an SLK I just know sitting in the SLK and I saw an E89 go past me I would think wrong decision. On looks alone the E89 wins hands down, the latest SLK looks very dated somehow :(

Yep black ash as I thought aluminium didn't go!!
I still think the E89 looks better but as they don't do it in Havana anymore my wife wanted something completely different as she thought she would look at it and say "it's nice but not what I wanted" hence the change of mark.
It looks really nice in the tenorite though as it takes away some of the front end machismo.
Really looking forward to this now!!

I think I would prefer the Mercs build quality but the Zed is still good enough. The previous SLK still wins me over, I thought the sharknose front was spot on but they've lost plot slightly on the latest incarnation.

Titan we had the previous SLK before the Z. My wife fell in love with it at first site (colour was a big part of it).
She was unsure of SLK until she saw one in the Tenorite.
It looks fantastic.

I think they have the slightly blockier nose to improve pedestrian safety in collisions.
Yep, you can actually see under the bonnet from drivers seat as it is raised up on arms that spring up if a numptie walks out in front of you! :poke:

Nice looking car , interesting how the ladies like them ,wrong image for me I'm afraid no matter how good but as long as you are pleased with it ,each to their own.

Chris I drive a white transit and a 10yr old Mazda Tribute
Tranny for work and Mazda for dogs, shooting, diving and is a great workhorse.

David, not sure how I missed your post but glad your purchase has all gone through!!! Congrats!!!! :D

You will love it, obviously a different animal to the Zed (being a diesel and auto), :poke: but I'm really really pleased with mine. Its such a relaxing car to drive, so smooth and comfortable. I always arrive at work/home feeling no stress at all!

I think looks and styling are subjective, and agree that from some angles the Zed looks prettier, but I personally love the nose and front end!

Yes, I think the new 2014 polar white is a whiter white than the previous white! :D

I'm only at 600 miles, and the engine has a long way to go before it loosens up properly, but I'm starting to return some pretty good mpg figures on my journey to work... and having 204bhp and 500Nm of torque, for me that's a great all round combination. :driving:
