Well, I finally admitted that I must settle down and confess as to how many candles were on my last birthday cake (77). Accordingly, I have sold the M6 (V10, 507HP) and ordered a new 2018 Honda Civic Touring sedan (174 HP). I have always hated CVT transmissions, but a test drive in the Civic surprised me and showed how much they have improved. The fleet is down to two now, with only the 2003 Mazda Miata (MX-5) available to drive briskly. Six speed manual, only 22,200 total kilometers to date - still looks like new. I have enjoyed this forum, and feel as if I have many old friends here. If you don't mind, I may just lurk in the background, continuing to enjoy the banter and comments and occasional wisdom found therein.

you should have kept the Z and offloaded the mx5 :D

I have driven an mx5 a few times, and they are great fun to drive.

Don't go far we do need a steady hand to keep us in check. :D

BB - Only the best your way with your new 'ride'.
At least the local Picton hot rodders can breathe a sigh of relief that they won't get blown off the road by "that white haired guy in the Red Zed" or more recently, "that white haired guy in the red sedan".
Something tells me we haven't heard the last chapter in your interesting automotive history.
The current calm at the local Tim Hortons has no chance of lasting long.

Interesting you mention the CVT in the Honda Civic, I wonder if it's the same as in the new Honda Jazz (or it might be Honda Fit in your market)? We bought a new Suzuki SX4 a few years back after owning an older model SX4 for 7 years (and loved). The new SX4 was utterly ruined by the CVT trans - it was garbage and I swore I'd never own another. Fast forward a year and we test drove a new Jazz with CVT and could not believe the difference, it really sold the car to us (traded the near-new SX4 on it, pity the poor owners who bought it, but then again maybe they'll never know any different).
Anyway, take care, and enjoy whatever you drive, for as long as you can :thumbsup: Cheers.
 
So all the BMWs now gone, but still have the Mazda for those fun top down drives - glad your sticking around on the forum David :thumbsup:
 
I hope you don't miss your M6 too much, David.

But at least you've still got a fun car - there's no harm in sticking around. :thumbsup:
