Goodbye but hello.

I sold OBY, my 2.5 Maldives Blue, on Christmas Eve. It was a nice car with a lot of work that had been done to it but I never seem to keep a car for very long. I had a 3.0 lined up but that fell through. Then the possibility of a Z3 or a Niseko MX5 but eventually saw a 2.5 Z4 only a few miles from home. A 2008 model, although not a garage queen, has the best bodywork of any car I have owned so I bought it for £3500. It has an MOT but needs work on the brakes and suspension I will probably wait until warmer weather. Thankfully I have kept my code reader!

Most excellent ! Congrats.

Body work does look tidy, wheel also looking smart.

De-tango'd also. Approved.

You will be pleased to know that OBY is well and enjoying life with her stablemate. Congratulations on your new acquisition, which looks really smart. I am sure you will itching for a new set of 17s or 18s before long as the 16” stars are pauper spec and not really big enough for the car IMO.

Very nice.
As I'm sure [ref]N4LLY[/ref] knows really, BMW de-tango'd the facelifts themselves.

Glad to hear she is behaving, the work done on OBY was quite considerable to say the least. I will eventually get around to doing the wheels on this one. It did have a black set of 17 inch rims but I didn't like them.

You sound like me, Raymond.
Man buys car. Man sells car. Man buys basically the same car again shortly afterwards.
Congrats on the new 2.5

Not an E85 expert, but BMW made a good move with the fac-lift then

Congratulations on getting your facelift Z4.

Is it the 2.5i you were thinking about? And crucially does it have the M-Sport seats?

It is a different one from the car in Ashford. Seats are standard unheated but it does have parking sensors!

You are a slim fellow Raymond. If you can get hold of a set of M-sport seats, it’s a very worthwhile upgrade and they hold their value. Some broader fellows find them uncomfortably tight.

. Nice to be called slim! This is what I have now but have steering wheel switches and parking sensors!

Congrats on the new 2.5

And repeat

Same

Thank you for all your kind messages. The new one does not the same noise as OBY under acceleration and perhaps lacks the sense of urgency that OBY had, maybe the vanos needs attention. However, OBY would get 37.1 miles to the gallon, my new one with the 6-speed box is getting 42mpg

I like the contrasting interior colour - looks like you have Autolights too!

My N52 engine 3 Series have proved slightly more economical than the M54 one was, but that was also a 5 speed.
