Good Work By BMW

A couple of weeks ago, a colleague of mine at work pointed out that my centre caps (BMW roundels) had started to corrode as had his 2018 company 330e.
I booked it into my local dealer and between booking it in and attending, my passenger wing mirror started to grind when opening/closing.
I left it with the dealer and received a call to say that the mirror needed replacing and that they had asked customer services regarding the rounders as they are not covered under warranty.
Received another call to say that CS had agreed to replace all the roundels and both rear 326 wheels because the corrosion had spread to them. Under warranty. Very impressed. Well done BMW!

Yes i think you have to watch what type of roundels are fitted. The really cheap tin plate one's could cause some dissimilar corrosion in the centre of the wheel. I had noticed this happen with the first replacement roundels i bought. Two wheel centres needed touching up with silver paint.

Flybobbie. The roundels on my car (And my colleagues 3-series) are original equipment, but agree about dissimilar metal corrosion.
Just glad he noticed mine and I get 2 new 326 alloys as part of the deal.

Indeed sunnydays. That’s why I posted! Fully expected the “the roundels are not covered by warranty “ statement!

Update. Car went in last week to have the passenger door mirror replaced, the wheel roundels replaced, and the rear alloys replaced (All under warranty/CS go-ahead). I also had the MOT carried out as the car is just on 3-years old.
So, turned up to collect the car and the service guy tells me that mirror, roundels, alloys have been changed and that the car flew through the MOT. GREAT!!! He the says "That'll be £138.00 please". I ask why a MOT costs that much and he then reads that the MOT was £58.00 and that BMW had authorised fitting 2 new tyres on the new alloys. I hadn't been told, nor had I authorised. He asked if I wanted the tyres swapped for my old items and I said NOOOOO!!!!! Only£40.00 each for 2 x Bridgestone Potenza tyres (Albeit RFT's) was an offer I wasn't going to turn up!
Well done BMW!!! (Although I still have no idea why BMW would authorise new tyres-Maybe they were for someone else!!!) ;-)
