Good value Z4MC to be had?

I recently purchased a Z4MC (see thread: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=78590&start=15) and in my hunt for the right car had test driven the following car at my nearest dealer (so I could check that an M Coupe was for me (evidently it was).

The car was a basic model (no extras like sat Nav / heated seats /PDC etc), 70k on the clock but drove very well (in my opinion on the test drive).

At the time the car was overpriced at £18995 but had:
- full BMW service history
- new front tyres
- new disc brakes front and back
- recent service (13.5k till next inspection)
- new battery
- immaculate exterior (IMO)

At some point it had had a change of interior from Light Sepang Bronze to Black (which could be considered a negative). Despite the potentially low short term running costs the asking price was way off for me so I found another one. Now that they have knocked off 2k earlier in the month and another 2k today (now £14994), it seems to me like a good value M Coupe. Perhaps my insight on the drive and recent history might help someone see the good value here. Anyway I hope it helps / is of interest.

Agreed it was looking overpriced with relatively few extras , piano dash is nice though :wink:

I was all over this car a few weeks ago at a launch day (when it was 18k) and my observations were as follows:

New discs
Front end appeared to have very few stone chips, possible respray?
No extended leather, a must for me
Boot button damaged, a few scratches in that area too from memory
No tinted windows, a must for me too

At 18k it was overpriced, at 14k looks very good value though despite my reservations

I wouldn't say so as other highly priced ones have still sold recently. Having said that, the car being spoken of and the Imola AUC car have had quite substantial reductions lately.

I think we will see (and are seeing) a widening in values. Lower mileage cars will continue to demand strong money,whilst higher mileage examples (relative to Z4M terms, so >60k) will struggle to follow suit.

That goes for any car though not just ZMs :wink: got me thinking though so just done a quick experiment on the car buying sites , , , very surprising results :wink:
 
Do you think the desirable options are adding more value than would be expected, and being a significant influence on the widening of the market other than the mileage?

Possible although you aren't asked for specific extras other than nav,leather & PDC :? plus the basic owners & history questions
