Well I have finally found myself a good use for the dreaded speed bump. Like I would think most of us on here have a normal off the shelf trolly jack that because of its minimum closed height just doesn't fit under my car. Sport suspension added not helping either making it that little bit lowwer. I know I have had to use bits of timber to drive on to get the height, again probably like most of us do, but twice I had this try to roll back and try to jam itself onder the front spoiler. I have had a look at some racing jacks but are just too expensive to justify buying one for the odd occasion when I ahave already two decent jacks. Anyway I came across these disused speed bumps which where taken off a works site cause too many people where complaing about them and there is already a speed restriction enforced. I do know that the company who owns the site paid a little fortune to get them installed and having them took off a few months latter at another cost. So after finding out who to deal with I made an offer for 4 of these "redundant" bumps and it got accepted and I ended up saving myself buying another jack. When I picked them up there was a guy who has a really nice Golf GTi which is reaaly low and asked me what I was doing with them and when I told him he went and got some for himself cause he had the same problem. Now I can drive onto my speed bump without having to worry if the timber is going to roll back and damage anything underneath, place any of my two jacks under the that particular jacking point, do what work I need to do, lower down and drive back off that easier. As for storing them they just sleep at the back of the garage and act as a stop guide for when I am far enough back. So enough said here are some pictures of the "good" speed bum in use.

Jack just dosen't go under.
