Good time to sell?

When does the market start to pick up for roadsters, March/April? I'm looking to advertise my old roadster soon but it needs taxing beforehand and obviously I don't want to lose a months tax if it's just going to be sat there. Checking the prices on Pistonheads they seem to have firmed up a little, but is it still too early? When do you is best to start advertising?

I'm in the same boat (bought an M Coupe, have a roadster to sell) and I decided to wait until mid-March to start advertising. I know 2 other roadster owners that have been advertising their cars since December who haven't had a nibble. The plan is to put back the stock 16" wheels and have the car professionally detailed 2 weeks from now, then snap some pictures and post it on eBay in a no reserve auction starting at $15,500.

When i got my Z4 the prices for second hand cars were still very high so when my 3 month old one turned up i snapped it up.

But i watched the prices drop hard as soon as the weather changed.

My advice is March April, the clever lot will be looking for a good deal from now till then and the cash rich people will only start to look when the suns blasting.

If its garaged get it prepared now though.

I just bought my Zed a week ago, the only reason I snapped it up so quick was because of its colour and because we had that little bit of sun in the past few weeks, I thought the prices would be slightly lower now then in another 2 months or so. But I had a look at other Zeds in the past few weeks and the trade people have kept calling me since then seeing if I was still interested in their car. For me, a buyer, I would definetly be looking to buy now but obviously at a lower price but for you as a seller, you might want to wait another month or 2 so that you can pitch your prices a bit higher!

As above March/April would be a good time to sell.

I was getting worried until i got mine in Jan as i wanted to snap one up before the weather started to warm up when they may be harder to source and you would have to pay that little bit more.
