Good start to the new year

What else have you done to your track car, Dave? Have been weighing up track car options (in terms of what car, with the choice largely based on price, fun level and available mods) with a mate for some time.

Start with a road going 320i, strip all the interior trim, add cage and all the necessary safety and race stuff. Then it's discs and pads, dampers and springs, geometry, exhaust, track tyres and some tweeks to the fueling to get the power up to the 140/145bhp power limit for the championship. Mine still has electric windows and mirrors, the heating system and is MOT'd. It's a nice handling thing and values seem to be on the rise and as a one make race car it makes a lot of sense. As a trackday car I'd choose something else, like my 325ti perhaps or a Z4 3.0
