good roads near Fettercairn?

I've got a job on for a couple days at Fasque House in Fettercairn in August and planning to spend a couple more days up there if the roads / scenery is good. I'm unsure if I'll have time to hop over to Glen Coe but still may be an option. Has anyone had any experience up new Fettercairn / Off the A90 south of Aberdeen?

Cairn A Mount road is your first stop! That will then drop you into Royal Deeside and you can take the South Deeside all the way up to Ballater.
