Good price for CF roundels?

Hi,

After reading (mostly) positive reviews of the carbon fibre BMW roundels, I've decided I'd like some for my car. Just wondering what a decent price to pay for them would be - been quoted £90 for a full set (front/rear/sides/alloys/wheel) including delivery from someone who appears to be pretty reputable on ebay. It's for the actual roundels rather than the vinyl stickers.

Already got my stubby ordered and planning on ordering the clear side indicators and driver's first aid box later this week - the modding has begun!

Yep i got mine for £53 inc shipping from HK, which arrived within a week from an eBay user called newlookstyling: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/newlookstyling. He didnt list them in any auctions so i sent him a PM with the sizes i wanted:
3 x 82mm
1 x 73mm
1 x 45mm
4 x 65mm

Mine were around the same price as what you've been quoted.

Aquazi what did you think of the quality of them? Are they as good as/better than OEM?

The ones that I've been quoted £90 look really good quality and have the BMW stamp on the back (although they're not genuine). Tempted to go for them however I feel £90 is just a bit too much for non-OEM decals.

I'm very happy with mine. The quality of mine were very good equal to stock, imo the wheels ones were better then stock as they have a domed resin finish while the stock ones feel like they are just painted on!

Mine also had the bmw logos + part codes of some sort stamped to the back!

Here's the pick of mine as they arrived:

can you tell if its real carbon fibre used? im looking at these too but im not sure whether theyre real carbon fibre from the ebay page, just im not a big fan of fake carbon fibre

I think that's the same ones that I was looking at but a different retailer. Get the feeling the name you gave me is actually for the supplier themselves. I've emailed them a few hours ago and just patiently waiting their reply - unfortunately they aren't advertising the 73mm bonnet roundel on ebay but hopefully they will have it in stock.

yeah i just sent them and email with the sizes i wanted and came back with that price, paid with paypal and within a week they arrived.. cant fault them.

Not sure if they are real carbon fibre - look like they are weaved in the sunlight, but then i have seen vinyl which looks as good too.

For that price I wouldn't imagine they are. Definately going to order a set - emailed them the sizes and will see what they come back with. Did they take long to reply to you initially?

well if you cant really tell then they should be alright for me  iv seen some carbon fibre look parts before and they look terrible, the picture does show they look pretty good quality so might have to place an order

Thanks for your post, They quoted me £50 inc shipping. Can you or anyone confirm that the wheels badges are 65mm? The seller told me that OEM wheels are 68mm.

Maybe took a day or so... but i put that down to the time zone difference!

Maybe it depends on the wheels- but on my 108's they fit very snugly - much tighter then my stock ones - which i removed with a suction cup - cant to the same with these (which i tried when cleaning my wheels)

I took the wheel roundel out last night to check. The disc on its own is 65mm whereas the whole insert is 68mm. That's on my 107s anyway.

Guy got back to me today - £50 plus delivery.

Just received my CF roundels - ordered from Taiwan just under 3 weeks ago and still here (despite all the ash-related flight problems!). Look really good - the same as the ones above. Going to go and fit them :D

Now that you point it out, it looks like a nice little mod.

Joe.

Not too bad. A few people have put up write-ups on how to do it so they'll probably explain it better than I can. The only one I had any problem with was the bonnet roundel. The replacement one is slightly larger and not as dished so the underside of it needs to be routed out so that it will fit properly. Not entirely happy with the end result of my bonnet one so might try and play with it later or order a new one as I've unfortunately chipped the silver lining off the edge.
