Good price for a Z4 Coupe?

Just a thought, do you guys have any recommendations for a decent driving route to enjoy the car on? I live in God's Own (Yorkshire).

Or maybe there are some old threads that someone can direct me to...

anywhere near Halifax? we are having a breakfast meet in April

Hi Taz,

Not too far from Halifax. I live in Harrogate but originally from Bradford and used to play rugby around Halifax so know it a bit. The breakfast meet sounds like a good craic. Where would I find out details of this?

Hi Bluestreak56, thanks for replying.

It is the Coupe SE. It has some bigger wheels on than the standard 17s, either 18 or 19 inch with decent premium branded RFTs. It has bluetooth, cruise control, heated seats, climate control and xenon headlights.

Not sure which of these are standard and which are options.

Thanks.

As an SE it will always demand a slightly lower value than the other coupes on the market. Something to keep in mind..

Thanks, Bluestreak. Does this mean to say that you feel that the price of £9k is too high for this car? I appreciate your thoughts being somewhat new to this market really.

Thanks Taz. I think I know where you mean. What happens on these meets? I'm imagining it's significantly classier than the meets that I have passed in Morrisons in Bradford on an evening on my way home where a group of young lads in pimped up Scoobies and Novas etc sit there revving their engines and showing off their latest neon blue downlights and other illegal mods whilst tucking into a Macdonalds.

If it's exactly the same as this, I'm going to feel a bit awkward now....

its just a social get together, we meet up, have a look at the cars, then have a breakfast and a chat

Yep - it is quite amazing. We don't buy sports cars for their fuel economy, however, it certainly helps in the long run. You will be hard pressed finding a 3 litre sports car pulling 265 bhp that can average 30 mpg even when driven hard.

I still couldn't find one and that was during ownership of one. 25mpg overall :D that noise intoxicating.

Mr Wilks, StuartC and Marlon, thanks very much for your time to reply gents. Much appreciated.

I'm feeling more confident that it is a good price. I guess I just needed reassurance as I'm spending all my savings on this and I am a 33 year old family man with a wife and two kids under the age of 3!

This will be my main car for commuting to work (45 mile round trip in a mix of country lanes and slow moving traffic) and for the occasional drive with my son at the weekend when he wants a go in "Daddy's racing car"! I know it's not a sensible move, but by God, it's a beautiful car and it seems a good price and I've never owned anything better than a Focus!

I bought my first zed when my twin girls were just two. Was only a problem on a couple a rare occasions. It's been a thirds car for nearly sixes years now though so never an issue, except it's under used :(

The difference in Se to Sport is minimal & the values diminish the older they get . Remember most of these cars are heading for 10yrs age / multi owners & north of 75k .
Far more relevant to future values will be condition , spec , colour , history & of course mileage
Scan the market place & try to find a same year / miles better specced coupe for £9k  i doubt tou would whether Se or Sport so wouldn't worry too much about being fleeced on the deal .
Buy it , look after it & enjoy it :driving:

As Mr Wilks says that the differences are minimal and the older these cars get, the difference in value should reduce further. Also as he says condition, history, spec will be paramount. I just want to ensure you are aware of the fact that a lot of potential BMW owners these days will avoid an SE anyway possible. The problem is they arnt educated enough to know that if its got sport seats and 18" alloys, it will probably be better than the sport for the Z4 Coupe..

As per everyone else and my first post. £9k for a car of this mileage and history should be a good deal.

Good shout. I plan to enjoy it thoroughly! My wife made a good point the other day when she asked where does someone go from there for their next car!

I've read a few articles about this becoming a modern classic. Be awesome if it does.

I can live without sports seats and suspension (or rather my fat backside can!!) but thanks for highlighting that a lot of people would be put off by an SE. I didn't realise that as I thought the difference is minimal as it's basically the choice of a hard sporty ride or a slightly more comfortable ride as both provide the same performance.

Given that they're in relatively short supply, I'll keep it well maintained and give it the respect it deserves.

Hi Garibo
I'm out near Knaresborough so local and just back in a Z4 after a few years absence. I sold mine before my first was born and bought it back with them at 5 and (nearly) 3. Have another car as a daily drive though so can handle the practicality issues! My kids love "the sports car" and with an isofix on the passenger seat they can still ride!
Still looking for decent roads as my run flats have lots of tread left..... Out on the old A1 and down to Bramham I "may" have exceeded the speed limit....

Not gone that far yet in the Z4 but cycle it often so when the weather improves planning on going out that way as they are great roads.

Less than a week to go before I get my new motor!!! Can't bloody wait! I'm already wondering what my first set of mods should be. Any suggestions? By the looks of things, it seems that the first has to be a 'stubby'. Where is the best place to get one of these?
