Hi everyone,
Don't really consider myself as a newbie as I've been on here sporadically over the past 6-7 years! Just thought I'd sign up as it's a good place to refer to and has helped me out in the past. I look forward to sharing my work with the community and helping others back.
So, I got a Z4 Roadster at 17. It's black with red leather interior, hardtop, BBK, Xenons, bracing, DCT gear, uprated differential, iDrive, 3.4L block, larger injectors and remap, custom exhaust, adjustable suspension etc...
I have put a kit on it and lowered it on some wide wheels (I have done lots of work to this car which I'm sure I've missed out...)
Most recently this summer I carried out a full front and rear suspension rebuild to my own specifications - which was both challenging and tedious but rewarding seeing the end result! Countless hours were spent doing this job carefully and properly; following official BMW instructions and torque specifications. It has been rust eradicated and fully treated and sealed underneath. The suspension is adjustable and has been reinforced at all mounting points.
It's a very firm ride with all the powerflex bushings if I'm completely honest, but can be made compliant by adjusting dampness/rebound. I have lots more planned for this car, but for now I'll let all the suspension settle in and then tweak my alignment accordingly...
My other major build project that I will be undertaking is on my Z4 coupe which I bought 2 years ago. My envisioned plans for this is to go custom widebody with deep wide wheels and custom painted (Don't worry, this will NOT be a reincarnation of "Project Marmite"
My approach to this will be diligent and subtle).
This will also get a full suspension overhaul at a later date sometime. I'm currently working on a pair of lights which will be custom designed and made by myself. It will utilize the latest BMW Laser systems. Again, some more plans for this too...
And lastly, I'm also a fan of and subscriber to Joel on YouTube. If you are on here Joel, just want to say keep up the great work! I've picked a few things up from your Z4 vlogs
Thanks and I look forward to hopefully becoming an active member on here.
