Good looking Rear?

OK - so since doing al the mods I've never had the top on to see what it all came out like.

Rather pleased with the rear end look of the combo of hardtop, quad, diffuser, etc. and the subtle stubby, cf badge, Zed removal.

Must get that new camera :)

Roadsters with a hardtop are killer looks, you've got a fantastic looking car there! Your CF roundels, are they replacements or overlays?

certainly 'mans-up' the rear end. always thought the rear of the z4 was weak compared to the front/ other angles of the car.

looking really good ! i think the grey helps it look a bit more menacing and moody..

Looks awesome

When I joined the forum I saw that rear and thought great, that's what's been missing! Then I read how you went about it... quickly re-set my expectations. Thankfully even standard it looks pretty good.

So, what's next? Not that it needs anything else, but I met your type when I had the bike!

Glad you guys like it :)
CF badges are replacements. Very high quality resin cast over CF. Look very OEM. A few of us have used the same supplier now
I think the straight on rear view with hardtop is a really good vew. I'll be shot but better than the coupe at that angle.

Mean and moody - interesting. I was heading for 'clean and purposeful' while looking as it if were probably OEM or how it shoudl have been built

Next mods - very little left to do as you end up guilding the lilly. Pehaps an ESS supercharger

Absolutely love the effort and time that's gone into your Z4 - the rear look is good but so is the rest of the car. If I was being fussy (and I am!) the only thing that goes against the "clean and purposeful" look for me is the rear parking sensors: it's just a shame they're so visible but there's not much that could be done about them, given they're already fitted. But as I said, I'm just being fussy: it's like picking faults on Keira Knightly 8)

Not a big fan of the Z4 hard top... or Boxster for that matter, but the cars looks spot on and those wheels are sweet.

Cheers

That looks cool!

have you ever thought of taking the french fries off?

Nope for 2 reasons - firstly I think they look aweful with them off and in my specific case they hide the cosmetic surgery where I grafted and German RHS reversing lens in place of the standard red lens.

Wow - Thanks for the compliments everyone :) I knew I'd achieved what I set out to do but didn't expect such a positive reception

a11ly - I agree the PDC sensors are a bit obvious, but they were OEM and already fitted. If I did it myself I'd use one of the latest gen internal metal strip designs for a clean look.

Yep, I know the ones you're meaning - I'm considering the http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/ones for both my van (a nightmare to reverse) and the Z4. It's just a bonus that nothing's visible.

Does anyone know if newer-model BMWs still come with the visible (ultrasonic?) sensors?

Good work.

Personally I'm not a fan of the hard tops, not quite as cool as a proper Coupe, I think the rag looks nicer and integrates with the design more nicely.

BUT, thats just me. I generally like your car a lot, can't beat doing something new but with OEM parts. Makes it look original while also being very unique!
