Good evening all

Hello

Been lurking for a while and thought it about time I joined and said hello.

I’ve actively started looking for an e85 3.0i manual and had a look at one today - locally and maintaining social distancing. It was all good except for a few things that would need sorting (2004 with 103k) but one thing puzzled me. The V5 said the car was registered in March 04 but the service book said nov 03 and the car was made August 03. I was trying to think of a reason why this would be?

Expect to see a lot more of me as I will have heaps to ask and share when I do finally get my hands on one

Cheers

Matt

Hello and welcome, the car may have been ordered and delivered in November to the dealer, kept in the showroom, but not registered until March on an 04 plate

Welcome to the forum, and good luck finding the right Z4.

I'd ignore the registration date in the service book - the supplying dealer may have entered the date they did the PDI.

Gaps between build and registration don't seem unusual.

My first Coupe was built on 10/10/2006 and registered on 22/12/2006.

Yet my second one was built on 18/09/2006 and not registered until 29/12/2006.

I bought an E91 3 Series a couple of years ago that was built in August 2005, but not registered until 01/03/2006!

Hi and welcome ,if your still looking to buy ,be fussy when looking and take your time finding the one for you.Rectifying faults on these cars can soon nearly double the purchase price if you buy a wrong one.

Thanks for the advice.

Luckily I’ve been reading this forum for a while and I’m not new to BMWs. But you never know!!
