good ebay purchase

I was looking advice to buy this flash unit for my camera, the Nikon SB 600, from this board. In spite of the comments made here I went and bought one off eBay. I wanted it nlt Wed July 23 so I asked the seller what the add on costs would be. She emailed me and told me it would go from $6.13 to $15 for 2nd day air or something. This was cool. It arrived before noon. I checked it out and it works perfectly. Sometimes when I buy something off eBay it is like waiting for some POS that I just paid good money for and have no idea if it is what I really want, just as long as I got a good deal is all that seems to matter. This one worked out...at least so far it has.

I thought she said that she would guarantee it to be here by Wednesday. Hell I answered the door and there is the mailman asking for a signature. Glad I had a baseball cap on, ya never know who is ringin the door bell now do ya?

Yeah, buying off eBay is a bit of a gamble sometimes. I've been burned a handful of times with fake or misrepresented merchandise. I bought a 500 dollar Nokia N95 last week and thankfully it was legit even though I heard horror stories of people getting "Nokla" knock-offs. I normally wouldn't go through eBay for a purchase like that, but New York State's ridiculous sales tax laws on Internet retailers are making it worth the risk.

Oh, and my trunk mat arrived today. Thanks! I'd give you positive feedback if I could; it looks great.

Funny about that trunk mat, it fits the 03-05 fine but not the facelifted models. I was looking for something else when I came across it.

Cheers,
Greg

Good purchase, but it can be a lottery

I needed a projector for a business meeting and everyone in the area wanted £400+ for their cheapest. OK but they did not actually stock and delivery was next day. Too late as I was flying.

Struck lucky that a local guy was selling an ex demo on Ebay sale ending in 2 hours. Dad just 1 hour testing on the clock. Agreed £215 cash on collection and a 6' screen thrown in

Imagine my surprise when I find out having collected that it's perfect and that this unit is a US model on retail sale for $10,600 (yes you read right) currently available as a clearance line at $3750. Still 10x what I paid...

When not used for business this is now a monster domestic movie projector that can make a 20' wide picture. :) :) :)

did you meet him in a dark car park, that's really fookin cheap, respect :)
Nargh that would not have been a deal, but a crime..lol. I met him at his company offices as I trust nobody on Ebay.

I trust that when you use the projector for home use, that you declare that benefit to the tax man and not fully deduct the cost as a business expense

My business plasma screen, which I store in the house for safe keeping, passed the VAT inspection by the way ... 8)

I believe that on my P11D that any personal use will be considered negligble and of course as a fellow director it's important that mrs CJ10 keeps up to speed with current affairs and the odd movie as part of her wider personal development. Should either of my daughters happen to see any movies that would be co-incedental.
