They predict that those are the colours for next years to come more flashy colours peronnaly i think thats a good thing

Gut reaction, Urrgh!!!!!!!!!!!! each to their own though.

Though I accept what everyone is staying about colour, Grey's and blacks are getting a bit boring.

Hi Guys

After a long battle with BMW I finally traded the M Roadster for a brand new M3 coupe in Dakar Yellow indivadual. :o
As you guys are awear I had a lot issues with my M Roadster so it nice to see BMW man up and step up and look after a good client.
Picked up the new car yesterday very happy with the new car love the power and the sound however I have to tell you guys nothing beats the handling of the M Roadster I miss it already. :(
I will try to post some photos of the new ride if I figure out how. LOL

Congratulation, as an ex-M3 driver I know where you are coming from. Have fun driving your ///M

Cheers,

Rolf-Dieter

Congratulations, as for the colour, kinda like it, prefer Phoenix Yellow, but certainly better than Grey. The colour choice vs most guys comments, got me wondering about something else, are there any women out there that have purchased a grey car by choice?

The reason, it has to be a scientific certainty that women have more style than men. I mean just look at men's shoes, if this hypothesis is true than there should be significantly less women as a percentage, that have purchased a grey car, over men. :fuelfire:

If someone wants to be really clever, we could do a women only poll vs a men only poll

I didn't know the colour so I got them to tell me and they said it was a £1545 option. But maybe that's on top of the normal premium for metallic?

It seems to depend who you ask, 'Individual' colours on the M3 configurator are £795, but Atlantis Blue isn't listed, and I have heard figures of £1500 all the way to £3500. Apparently individual cars are taken off the line and painted elsewhere but I don't know how true that is. The mystery surrounding it all must help them justify the cost to buyers I guess! The Individual Brochure Download makes no mention of the colour either.

Why is that though? Gunmetal grey is often the classiest colour for a car, black always looks good which is why it's so common....are you saying cars in bright colours are automatically more 'stylish'?

I'd argue it depends entirely on the car in question

Dakar was a colour on the UK M3, ive only ever seen two though. Actually on my old E46 forum.

Enjoy the V8 though

That's my point, just because you and probably 20% of most men generally believe that Grey is the classiest colour, is your and there opinion and taste, my query was what the differing percentage between sexes would be.

My own personal taste are for colour and not shades of black and white, so I have owned cars of blue, red and yellow. with Phoenix Yellow getting the most positive comments from both sexes, however of the negative remarks, came from men in grey cars. My 60 year old mum borrowed my 2.5Si Z4 in yellow for 4 weeks whilst I was on vacation, the first thing she commented on was the looks and positive remarks she got from men!

I've had two yellow cars in the past, would have Phoenix Yellow no problem, although I think it suits the E46/85/86 more than newer models.
