Good 6 Cylinder Roadster

Need to add Z4 number 3 to the fleet for my 19 year old son.

Wanted , good quality, high spec roadster, must be 6 cylinder, ideally Auto, but will be interested in a manual if it ticks all the boxes. No SMG cars thanks.

Higher the spec, the better, but not interested in heavily modded cars, i.e coilovers, brake mods etc etc due to insurance issues and a younger driver. No really high mileage cars either.

Extra interest in M sport seats, M steering Wheel, M Suspension & Aero kitted cars.

Ideally in the Midlands but will travel for the correct car. Budget relevant to car condition, mileage and spec but please be realistic.

Thanks

Good luck with your search. If you see a particular car you want to buy, post the details on the forum, and the members will give you their opinions. Regarding those aero things, a member nearly got into trouble with them, so either avoid or inform the insurance company if the car has them.

Your son is a very lucky lad!

Just a thought but if you found a facelift Sport model those M trinkets would have been fitted as standard, so wouldn't need to be declared as mods.

Anyway good luck finding the right one.

Thanks, think you have a point there, so we need an SI ideally with an aero kit. Hens teeth!

Might not be impossible, there 2.5i, 2.5Si and 3.0Si facelifts that all had the option of SE or Sport trim so you never know!

I'm selling my 2003 3.0 but it does have a 6 speed smg gearbox, which has been faultless for the 17 years I have owned it!! Shifts quickly in sport and rev matches on downshift better than I ever could with size 13 feet!

If you can get past the smg, it's got:

Genuine BMW aero kit (front bumper, sills, rear diffuser)
Ducktail rear spoiler,
Eisenmann rear silencer
Si bigger front brakes
clear rear lights
Koni FSD dampers with about 20k miles on them.
ellipsoid alloys
hardtop with storage bag and inner trim panels.
I retro fitted optional rear air diffuser that clips between the headrests and stores clipped in the boot and optional cruise control - both genuine BMW.
Single din hifi conversion and usb charging replacing the cigarette lighter.

I've owned it for 17 years. Lots of history and had a proper going over at independent specialist BM Wirral last year and they just put it through it's MOT last week for me and said it all looks good.

The paint is a little tired on place and only mechanical issues are slightly clicky clock spring - new one included. Slightly tired bonnet pull cable - new one included. Intermittent central locking - probably the cheap Amazon locks I fitted a couple of years ago (should have bought BMW!) opens on the key fine.

Can come with some sort seats that need some love if you pay the asking price of £3950 ovno.

Hard tops fetch £1000 and aero side skirts the same, so I think it's a sensible price all considered.
Gutted to sell it, but I don't fit it as well as I did and it hardly gets used 😭

Thanks, I dont think he will be able to insure a modded car at 19, could you pop some pictures up please along with the mileage & reg.
Happy if you would rather PM too.

May be that we have a shift around with the current Z4's to accommodate.

My daughter bought en E89 23i MSport. Insurance cheaper then a E85, and if she could have found. 30i, 35i or 35is the insurance was even cheaper. The 20i or 28i were more expensive to insure though.

That's total insurance logic right there :headbang:
