Only if permanent I think, as original colour is still under the wrap no need to inform, could be wrong of course as my fiancée often points out.

I saw an i8 gold wrapped in Norfolk a couple of times recently.

I had to admire it quite honestly, but wouldn't want to own anything in that guise personally, a bit too much bling.
