Going to see this Z4 coupe

Hi everyone. I'm going to see this Z4 coupe this weekend and have a couple of questions;

Is anyone familiar with it? Did it belong to anyone on here?

I've noticed the brake discs are vented. Was this a standard option?

I'll try and get underneathe the rear and see how the quad conversion has been done.
It also looks like the alloys are slightly corroded. Is there anything else I should look out for?

They brakes are cross drilled and grooved and aren't standard..

The 108 style wheels do corrode,its very hard to find a set without..

Like the quad and the mileage,seems a bit pricey but get to have a look but should be immaculate at that money.

Looks nice though. As above should be mint at that price but if it is I say go for it.
I got mine 2 years ago for 12k with 42k on the clock. Similar quad and 19s. Mind you mine is flimper spec with just a comfort pack, air con and stereo.

Look at the buyers guide and go with a pad and pen. If you have internet access could make a show of looking at forum and pricing jobs up. Might give some haggle room?

But if its perfect buy it! :)

It is on the pricey side considering the condition of at least one of the alloys. I'd be surprised if they weren't all like that. I mean why would they photograph the worst looking one?
I would happily trade some of the spec for 19's greg!
 
Hehe. I'll have the coupe for the winter. If I've lost all sense come summer time then I might get a roadster. :lol:
 
I've also been to see this one. This was originally a smidge over 15.5k on the road a few weeks ago. Now its 14.5k on the road. It has got all the extras. Do you think it offers good value considering the mileage? The alloys are unmarked and it looks to have a relatively new set of tyres. Nankang branded IIRC.

It all depends on whether you're prepared to pay the premium for the low mileage IMO. To put it in to perspective I paid 8k for my 2008 coupe, but it has 100k on the clock, which seems to be about the going rate for high milers regardless of year. I've had to throw about a grand at it to sort out some cosmetic issues since buying it so obviously factor that in.

You will find well specced and good condition cars with higher mileage for a lot less money. So personally I would only go for one of the ones you've listed if you're going to keep it garaged and just do a few thousand miles per year on weekends to preserve the low mileage and hence value. If you are looking for a daily driver, IMO buy a higher mileage one and save yourself 4 or 5 grand.
 
I've followed your threads edd and your car has undergone such a transformation. Didn't realise it had those miles on it. Certainly doesn't look like it's covered anywhere near that mileage. Kudos.
I intend to use it daily so I suppose I should stop getting hung up on the mileage.
I enquired about a stratus grey one this morning that had been up for sale for sometime only to be told it was sold last night. Gutted.
 
Thanks, appreciate it! Still some work to do but it's getting there :) I can relate because I normally go for low milers myself as I only use my car a couple of times a week, but I couldn't afford a 'top end' Z4 coupe. Having owned lots of BMWs over the years my advice would be to buy on condition, not mileage. You have to look hard but there are cheaper, higher mileage minters out there. And also remember that low mileage doesn't always mean mint - I went to see a 645ci before deciding on the Z4 which 'only' had 60k on the clock, but it was a real dog.
