Going on holiday: secure my Z4?

I am leaving on holidays in a couple of weeks, and I have to leave the Z4 on the driveway, which is open to the road.

Is there any way I can prevent people from driving away with it, by removing some crucial part? I could remove the accu, but that might cause some trouble when fitting it again.

any ideas?
 
not posting the fact ur away on the internet :poke: only kidding- take th keys and put a post up and u should be fine
 
Maybe remove the fuse for the Fuel pump? I wouldn't disconnect the battery. To be honest i normally leave mine in the garage without doing anything to it, i would look for an alternative to leaving it on the street though maybe leave it at work if their car park is secure.

To give you piece of mind during your 2 week holiday do one or the other ...

1) Bring it to your BMW dealership and have them do a complete spa (I payed last time on my M3 now sold around $195- Canadian). Make the appointment for the day before you leave and tell them not to hurry you will pick it up in 2 weeks.

or

2) Find a garage where you can store it in the suburbs or a storage place. We have them here I'm sure you find one there.

Best of luck, as others said I would not leave it on the street. It be too obvious that the owner is away someone will do harm to it. There are a bunch of crazy people out there one of my friends cars has been keyed all around, required a complete paint job to fix it. I am sure you don't want that. Investing $200- will give you piece of mind.
 
Leaving no car on your driveway for a couple of weeks is an advertisment to would-be thieves that your house is empty. I would leave the car where it is usually kept, and ask a neighbour to keep an eye on the house and car. Just make sure the key is kept somewhere hidden / secure.
 
well in the "good old days " you could take out the rotor arm but thats progress for you :rofl:
