Did you not read my post, the e90 (and therefore those others mentioned too most likely) use hydraulic steering with an electrically driven pump.

I was looking for aux belt driven pumps not electrically driven

Just to further clarify what I said earlier, the optional active steering versions of the e9x as well as 1/x3 n52 models have pumps that are belt driven with electronic control. Where as the standard non active steering versions are purely old school mechanical. Worth noting that the active/non active models also have an entirely different pas res from the active steering version as well.

I know this is an old topic but hope you are still able to respond to questions. I was interested in your statement in your earlier thread in this Topic - 'So I detached the motor and removed the pinion', I have had my motor out a couple of times (unsuccessful repair) so familiar with motor construction, when you say 'pinion' are you referring to the motors worm geared shaft, if so, exactly how did you remove it ?

More likely to get a response if you notify the OP by including actual quote from the post referenced. But then it appears mjennings23 hasn't been active since April...

Thanks for the suggestion, I stumbled across his old thread through numerous searches, I did include the quote in inverted commas, it was a shot in the dark that he would be still be monitoring the forum but nothing lost in trying.
