go pro camera mounts or similar?

well ive lost my camera lady..... being so heavily pregnant she stays at home pretty much all the time now, she may however come out to change all the settings in my car then head back into the house after she's bored, lol!!

with some serious track action coming up i want to get some proper footage, just wondering what mounts people are using on their zeds? when im going certain runs, it really kills performance carrying a passenger to record for me.

this is the year for me to get my ass into gear and really grab some great footage and also shut a few people up in the process ;-)

i could really use some advice on mounting points, good points for engine noise without to much wind turbulance, also id like one of those systems that shows how hard im accelerating/ brakeing as well as the artifical speedo and rev counter plus boost plots if possible.

I sticked the GoPro basic bracket on the middle of the dashboard. I still have to improve it because there are some vibration. Check my vids ;) : http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26653

I also sticked another bracket on my helmet side, but doing that way in our Z, the central mirror is just in front of the cam :(.

Otherwise you can use the Go Pro suckers :thumbsup:.


But the main problem with the Go Pro is the poor sound quality :(.
 
cheers guys, vbox looks like a good system, also appears from other sites that i can use it to measure certain times ect ect

Damnn these sytems arn't chap with all the gear needed.....

What about the Oregon Scientific ATC9K? Looks promising, its image and audio quality is worse than the GoPro but it does have nice features!

It's waterproof, got a screen on it, shoots HD, can get a GPS sensor to plot your course and has a G-meter built in.

I went off-pisting with a guy who had one of those Oregon things stuck to his snowboard helmet. Looked like a nice piece of kit.

I bought one of these http://www.b-hague.co.uk/hague_car_suction_mount_sm1.htm and a Sanyo HD camcorder VPC-HD2000. The suction mounts on the rear screen looking forwards or backwards. Works a treat.

I will probably be selling the mount and the camera soon as I wont be taking my car on track again this year and I will proably sell the car in Sept when the Evoque arrives.

I fit the small tube GoPro mount in the bottom grille of the car. Gives wonderful low ground shots:

For interior filming, I use the suction cup mount. It works on the windshield, but also on the plastic windblocker behind the passenger seat.
