go fast jungle juice - how much ??

Went out to see art Garfunkel last night so had a bit of a drive, and I'm here to report I can't tell any different whatsoever between shells posh stuff and asda fuel. But for the taffy run I will put some Tesco 99 proof and try that.

Has anyone noticed a difference in MPG when using Tesco Momentum 99 and Shell V Power? I get a significantly worse MPG on the Tesco stuff which i found weird. Can't say my tests were very scientific but i'm sure there's a difference.
You will - the tesco stuff has a higher ethanol content. It's only the vPower that's worth paying extra for, in my opinion at least.

As I said earlier anyone expecting a miracle change overnight moving to 99 octane is going to be sadly disappointed. The difference isn't night and day like a remap on a turbo etc, its more subtle than that but definitely noticeable. Plus it does take time for the vehicle fuel trims/ignition advance etc to adapt to the higher octane and before any of that can really occur you've also got to get rid of all the old fuel/new fuel mix first to get to a state where there's only 99 in the tank.

Your going to have to go through a good few tank fulls first for all this to happen, although a full reset of the various adaptions with INPA etc (not just the throttle body ignition/key sequence reset) will speed things up after the first tank or two has been used up to get rid of the low/high octane mix of fuels.

Think I’ll be switching to Tesco Momentum too as the VPower prices have gone mental. From what I’ve read I do believe VPower is the better fuel but I’m not willing to keep paying an additional 17p a litre over other high octane fuel at Tesco. If it was 5-10p extra I could probably swallow that but it adds up with reasonable mileage, which I do.
