Like many with an E85/9 (and more with a 3 series) I started to suffer the well known central locking issues in this warmer weather. I researched the repair of the relays in the GM5 module but decided to send it off, rather than tackle messing with the board relays myself. I sent mine to a chap called Mervyn, trading as Autoelectron on eBay. I sent my module on Tuesday and it came back on Thursday morning by Special Delivery. Plugged in and working fine.
He only fits genune Tyco relays with the correct mettalurgical properties and guarantees the repair for 2 years - and that you'll get your module back in 48 hours. Total cost £52.95. Really great service and can't recommend highly enough if anyone suffers this in the future. I have no relationship with the seller - just passing on the good experience I had
