So basically my GM5 module needed its relays replacing so I set off this morning at 6:45 to Autoelectron in Harrogate on a whim not even knowing if it could be sorted then. I stopped off at a service station at 8:00 to call and see if it was ok to come in and get it sorted and it was no problem at all. Got there at 10:00, whipped the GM5 module out and asked just out of curiosity if there was anything he did with resetting the airbag gateway timing as this was also not working. He said he would have a look and off I went to costa for half an hour.

Came back and the module was fixed, in and working and his laptop was plugged in and midway through sorting the airbag light out.

SORTED... car now unlocks perfectly, airbag light goes out, I can now drive round with the passenger seatbelt not needing to be plugged in and assured the airbags will work should they need to.

Awesome service from Merv.

His company is;

Out of interest, what were your symptoms?
Mine seems to be playing up, range not as good as it used to be.

That’s how mine started.

The car locks perfectly every time but didn’t unlock. The interior light came on so the press of the key button was being received by the car and unlocking, turning on the interior light and dis-arming the alarm but drivers and passenger door, rear centre storage AND the petrol flap remain locked. I had to open with the key button and then physically unlock the door with the key in the door lock. Also if the car gets double locked you can’t open the passenger side at all even from the inside.

Get them changed it’s the best thing ever.

Cheers. I don’t have any problems with unlocking, just the range. Although my alarm has been going off a few times recently when I lock the car but that may be unrelated (thinking the bonnet switch).
