GM5 Module Repair - South Coast

Pretty sure mine needs the common repair. Trouble is I can’t get the thing out. Need to be a contortionist with the post-facelift as it has additional fixings to a metal bracket which makes it much harder and with my back playing up I just can’t do it!

Does anyone know someone that can remove and fix it while I wait? Was hoping to go down the eBay route however not doable where I can’t get it off! Don’t mind a bit of a drive but it would be nice if someone was within an hour or two.

I can remove and fit a replacement which would only need the keys pairing to your car. Leaving you free to send your other one off for repair at your leisure.
However, I'm in Norfolk.
Monday 19th I am going to Bracknell to help @10stb with his airbag saga. How far is that for you?
Probably not doable, but if nothing else crops up in the meantime, let me know.

That’s kind of you to suggest that but I don’t think I’d be able to get to Bracknell on Monday though I’ll check out my work diary. How would it work with the key pairing? Thanks for the reply.

Friday!!!!
Basically you just need to introduce your keys to the new GM5. So you’d need to bring both if you have 2.
I could then use Scanner 1.4 to set any specific coding you currently have.

This would be brilliant but sadly Friday is a no go as I have some important things going on that day that I’m not able to move. Sorry. But I really appreciate you trying to help.

I have a large driveway if Ruofdez is able to get to me on Friday.

Just over an hour from Southampton.

I could jump on Ruofdez gm5 module removal while enuff_zed is busy on my airbag system 😎

No problem. Bit too far for me to come the whole way unless another job pops up down that way too.
If you don’t need to use the car for a few days then just find someone who can hoick it out for you. I don’t recall it being any different to the prefacelift tbh. Undo the two plastic nuts holding the metal bracket to the bulkhead then lower the whole thing until you can undo the plugs.
