There's a few roads including the m1 at the moment could use this - cats eyes are gone the lane markings are worn away, goddam dangerous in the wet at night

Good Idea, unfortunatly the government would never alow it here as it would mean spending money on the motorist instead of take take take.

I will take some pics of that as I am going to NL shortly (need a bit of intelligent conversations after having been in the UK for too long  )

I like the idea of the snowflakes appearing when the temp drops.

And like in much in Europe where in rain the speed limit is lower, if the snow flakes are visible the limit should be lower. Instead of the morons who think that turning their side lights or fog lights on somehow makes them safer to continue at a much higher speed than everyone else.

Street lights are for pedestrians, so could only be turned off on motorways etc. I don't really know why motorways are lit anyway, cars have headlights.

I presume your Z4 has xenons, rather than the miserable excuse for headlights the standard ones have? I find vsibility really bad on stretches of unlit motorway.

don't know about you but headlights only point forwards...

do you look behind you when on the motorway... how easy is it to determine what lane someone fast approaching behind is in on an unlit motorway?

MUCH easier when there is lights

Just visiting - heard about the health care plans yesterday which sounds like political suicide. On average 5k Euro more a year per person????

how did I know you'd come back with that ;) :poke:

I'm sure there's a stretch of the A1(M) about 10 miles before Weatherby (heading North) that has illuminated cat's eyes - anyone else notice this? very effective. Switched off my lights to check I wasn't imagining things.

would they paint animals on the road where they are known animal crossings?

94883361

same question for pedestrian crossing but, pictures of people?

When i was in between jobs i worked on the roads putting up street signs and doing road markings , we use to have a glass powder which we use to skatter over the wet paint( which is actually a form of melted plastic) just before it dried, which use to make it reflective , because of cost cutting i dont think there do it now.
