Glove Box Creak

I seem to have a quite high pitched squeak, fast repeating short sound, coming from the glovebox when it is closed at present, especially on bumpy roads. It disappears if I open the glovebox hence presuming it is the cause. Anyone else experienced this/know the cause? I tend to drop it out with loud music but it does get annoying when I don't have the volume turned up!
 
It could be the damper. I removed mine as it always fell out. I fixed it and put it back and since then get a similar noise when closed.

I might remove it to confirm when I get chance.
 
I had this - on mine is was the plastic cover that sits underneath the glovebox

There are two screws and an expanding plug holding it in place. I removed the cover and used black insulation tape around the edges and refitted
