i have a few light scratch marks on the windscreen from worn out wipers that were on the car when i brought it, whats the best thing to get them out without causing more scratches cheers guys

Funny - I was planning on asking the same question! I bought CarLack glass cleaner which is a two-part treatment but I'm still not happy with the results.

I've had some success in the past using a glass polish that contains micro abrasives and a rotary polisher, or if you go to www.performancemotorcare.com, they do a scratch removal system, haven't used it myself though

use meguiar's NXT glass cleaner.

Great stuff but i'm not sure this will act to deal with scratches. I would have thought the only way to deal with this is to grind the surface down as mentioned above. Any issue with compromising the glass as a whole? . I assume the stuff that's used to repair cracks by the likes of autoglass won't hold in a scratch but needs depth to bond?

This problem keeps coming up, as previously stated I've had some success with a compound that contains diminishing abrasives and a rotary, but it only has an effect on the fine scratches on the surface of the screen, anything that's quite deep is there to stay.

Using felt pads and correct product ( cerium oxide or equivalent ) you can remove the scratches however, you do run the risk of a crystal clear are on the glass where the scartch has been removed. Other factors to consider are thinning the glass panel, glass running at high temperatures etc. Im sure if Animal on here comes across this thread he will give the green light for new glass as the only best option and he should know being a glass specialist
