Girls on The Run Charity

A friend of mine is running the Chicago Marathon in October in aid of Girls on the Run. I've lifted her words as she says it better than I.

"If you have a spare $5, donate it to an AMAZING organization that uses running to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development in girls. If you can’t spare the cash, maybe help with a signal boost?

How we spend our money says a lot about who we are and what we believe. This is an opportunity to do something important."

As the father of daughters, I think this is a great charity. If you can give $5 or more, that would be fantastic.

Thanks all

I've tried but the page keeps saying that there's something wrong with the security code on my credit card - and they seem to want an awful lot of personal information for a donation

I'll send a donation Stuart when I'm in front of the pc. Would it be easier for folks to PayPal you then you forward the money in one donation?

I could do that, but it's nice to see supporters named. I could ask her for her PayPal address I guess.

Edit - can you let me know if you have the same problem as Perry? If so I'll get my friend to inform the site that there's a problem.

Thanks :)

Tried it this morning from a PC and it all worked fine - so the failure was either some scripting that the tablet browser didn't like, a card authentication glitch or (l)user error as I could easily have mistyped something when I tried yesterday evening from a tablet

Completed my donation on the home PC.
As soon as I completed the mobile rang and it was the Santander Fraud dept checking the exact payment I'd just given was genuine. Not a problem just amazed how 'on the ball' Santander are.
Hope all goes well Stuart

Just giving this another bump. If you have daughters, or if you think it's a worthwhile cause I would be very grateful for the support. I've donated a chunk of airmiles to get my friend to Chicago, every little helps.

Many thanks to those that have donated.

I'm just giving this a bump. I know a few of you donated and for that I thank you. I promised Christa that I would make up the shortfall to her minimum amount needed to participate ($900) which I did this morning.

She's running on my birthday (next Saturday) and had circumstances been different I'd have flown over to cheer her on. So if any of you who know me might have been inclined to buy me a beer had we been in the same place, it would be highly appreciated if you'd put the $5 or whatever you feel appropriate into this great organisation that empowers young girls and see if we can get this up to a round $1000
