Gidday - returning to the E86 fold

Hallo folks

I bought a Ruby Black coupe way back in 2007 and swapped it for an Alpina B3s 3 years later - but over the last 9 years and countless vehicles, no other car has "touched" me (in a non-molestation way  ) as my coupe did and I have always wanted another one.

So I finally decided to scratch the itch and after a fair few weeks of looking and viewing, I have finally bought a Carbon Black 3.0 si sport last week which I collect on Monday - and I can't wait. I'm based in Oxfordshire and get to drive this bad boy 300 miles home :D .

I initially wanted a Ruby Black coupe with cream interior, but the ones I looked at were either pricey or not in the best of condition. So when I saw this Carbon black one I was smitten - especially with the individual red/black seats and dash. Haven't seen that combination in the wild before.

The car even got a mention in this week's Sun motoring news :-)

Not wild about the wheels, so will probably switch them got MV2's eventually, although I do like the Z4M wheels - but I don't want to offend any Z4M owners.

I guess I'm in trouble for putting Z4M wheel's on my E89 then... :o  .
And you're right - that black/red interior is quite unusual, well done you

Lovely cabin. Stick some ///M wheels on. You are mearly showing your appreciation for the design. It's when folk stick a quad exhaust and ///M badges onto a 116d that we get all agitated.

Oh and welcome back. :)

Just spotted the steering wheel.

Hi and welcome back to Coupe ownership.

I'm not a big fan of black cars, but yours looks stunning with that interior - especially the leather dash!

My current E86 came with 108s in good condition, but I wanted to replace them with something else before they started to get tatty as they aren't cheap to refurb.

I ruled out MV2s as my nephew has an E46 Touring with them, and they are a PITA to clean!

Also ruled out M wheels (224s) or CSL Reps because loads of people have done that.

Then I found a set of 295s on here and am really pleased with them. Being an E89 wheel they have different offsets, so they sit much further out in the wheel-arches without needing spacers.

So if you want something different it might be worth looking at E89 wheels.

Anyway, roll on Monday - that's going to be some drive home from Whitley Bay. :driving:

Welcome back to Z4 ownership and the forum from New Zealand. Great interior colour combo. Enjoy the drive back with the car. :driving:

Welcome to the forum from another Sun reader
You had better remove your steering wheel before you offend the M community

Stop winding him up - it's an M-Sport wheel, he's safe :D

Thanks for the welcome. I love the interior as it is a cool combination - Not too black and not too red. The dash is just a bonus cos it is unusual and matches the seats.

I quite like MV2 wheels cos I had them on my first coupe - despite the hassle of cleaning them, but I'll keep the 108s for a bit to see if they grow on me, although the refurb costs for split rims are a bit off-putting.

Will post some pics when I collect it on Monday. Can't wait :D

So after a week of playing and working, here is my new baby - loving the colour, sound and achingly beautiful lines.

VERY happy with him - just need to sort out a few niggles - (parking sensors and front fog lights not working - but I was aware of this before I purchased)

According to http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html, this is one of only 23 Coupes worldwide with this combination of exterior and interior. And only one of 3 manual ones in the UK :o so I better take care of him.

Hopefully see some of you folks at a meet/road trip soon :D

Great photos - I like how Carbon Black has a hint of blue in the sun.

And you've got some popular options, like cruise, Bi-Xenons, MFSW, heated seats and parking sensors - plus of course the popular ZHP gear-knob!

I might be wrong, but you may have the only manual Coupe in the UK in that colour combination with that dashboard.

Good luck sorting the niggles.
