Loosing that much oil is probably a broken rod going through the block.
But that is virtually impossible with a m54 as they are (stock) bulletproof (I don't know what car you have but I see a pre fl in your sig and the n46 won't go that fast  )
The only way to do that is to make a moneyshift, or low on oil in the first place (and not looking at the lights).
A broken multirib belt or so probably isn't strong enough the slash the oil filter housing. But no start is probably end of engine life. If it doesn't crank its probably seized up (or you have an electric problem too.... ).
But any mechanic can tell in a few minutes if the engine is dead if the above has happened, and nobody here can as you have to inspect the engine in person for that.

I hope you informed the police/firebrigade that you lost oil on the highway, as oil on the streets is really dangerous ;)
yep buddy that towed the zed took care of all that for us.

Simply for the fact that the main person in this doesn't really have a voice I guess I am defending them in a way, but to point things out. Yes I admite it was not the smartest move on her part to make the freeway her own drag strip. As you saw yes there was one other car in the video. I fully understand peoples thoughts on the whole it just takes one mistake. Even if the road is empty aside from one other car. But just to be clear that free/roadway just like many others in this part of texas have an entire 8! Lanes on both sides. So as someone stated above. It wasn't on a busy main road packed with not just cars. Not to mention it was right by the track. So most people that take the road are fully aware of the people that speed on that stretch of road. And again I also understand the whole one mistake type of discussion. just so I'm also heard. I don't aprove of street racing. I nearly lost it right into a ditch in a race once after that I decided if I'm going to crash while racing. Atleast make sure I don't have anyone elses blood on my hands or a nice fat ticket to add to the repairs. This is why I was at the drag strip in the first place. To go to there as they state in there website "legal street racing" event.

Now on to the car. She hadn't noticed it was leaking oil until after she tried turning it on. Honest mistake when nervous. Like I said, it was towed to our mechanic that night. So it wasn't driven after that or turned on. Its a shame it happened but you need to learn some things the hard way. That's why when a silly little honda with a cold air intake rims and an ebay muffler wants to race me at a light I giggle and wonder if he even realises what I have under my hood! Needless to say I rev my exhaust a few times and let him slowly but surely "beat me". Plus there are much cooler cars at the drag. Much like the 8 second evo with twin turbos I saw drag! :driving:

In the end the car was the only one hurt at the end of the night. I only posted as this seemed like a nice short read to share with you all. Not for sympathy or anything else. Can't we all just get along!? :(

There you go a grown up answer.
At least you can recognise either side of opinions.
Hope she hasn't busted the car and hope she doesn't do it again!

Carol do you ever do 31mph in a 30 zone? If so, that in itself is technically unsafe, so practice what you preach

By the way, don't say you've never done that as it's bull...

you're aware douche bag of the year runs for a full year right? you don't need to keep applying for it.

the difference between hitting someone at 31 and hitting them at 30 is so statistically small to make no difference.
however, the difference between hitting someone at 55 and hitting them at 120 (over double the speed) will make a hell of a difference.

 you're brown nosing everyone these days.

We're having an opinionated debate. Theres no need for your silly remarks here.

Oh please, what a stupid comparison. You don't need to keep chipping at me Ben. The OP has no problem with my post, why do you?
You haven't said anything to the guys that agreed with me, strange that.
Just leave it eh?

brown nosing suggests I've got something to gain... as before, I don't know Carol, never met her, never had dealings with her.
so, wrong again.

opinionated debate? nope.. you're trying to be a smart arse with extremely poor analogies and your own silly remarks.

post something intelligent and if someone starts being a dick about it, then i'd stand up for you.
but i'm yet to see that from you.

grow up lad.

What a shame someone asked a car related question and this is what has resulted.

Unfortunately I dont know the answer. I hope you get it sorted. All other comments should be in another thread as far as I'm concerned.

I think that drag racing started life in the USA as illegal races on public roads???

Just saying that's all :D

If you look back I suggested the issue being a conrod through the block. Have you suggested anything or have you just come in here to talk a load of rubbish:

you sure did.
as did I.
difference being, it was in my first post, whilst yours was after you posted your first snipe comment.

Think I've contributed a s**t tonne more here than you.
grow up. get a life. get out of your tracksuit and burberry.
last post here now too.

"Get out of your tracksuit and burberry"......I'm not sure you could sound any more out of touch and up your own arse. Because the lad has a bit of a disagreement with another member you decide to label him as some sort of stereotypical hoodlum?

I didn't remember this board having such high levels of snobbery and arrogance before.

Well i hope for the op the issue with his gf car isnt too costly.. A bent rod on the m54 is mightily impressive.

As for the in thread bickering :telloff:

Al least the op got some advice inbetween!

nope. not just because he has one disagreement with another member.

Oh I'm no snob. far from it.
But that attitude, that behaviour, that level of respect to others... I've seen that before, and it fits the stereotype I'm aiming at perfectly.
Never mentioned hoodlumism. If you drove past a McDonalds in a retail park at 1am on a saturday once in while, you'd know exactly the stereotype I'm referring to.
Maybe it's different over there in Ireland compared to here in England, maybe it's not and you're the one who's out of touch.
I don't know and you're entitled to disagree, just as I'm entitled to say it as I see it.

'Bout time this place got a bit spicy!!
Cazza, when a few people had an opinion on your sons crash, you didn't like it......remember?? :poke:

Just saying, glass houses and stones and all that!!

Can you at least appreciate where I am coming from though? Your remark could scarcely sound any more "high and mighty".

Now I don't frequent the boards so often these days and I can't vouch for the behaviour of other members, but I don't think references to Burberry and tracksuits is the way to go, it is generally used as a label for people to aim at others they deem to be "lower class". Perhaps worth noting that there is probably a fair proportion of people on this board who couldn't afford to regularly buy Burberry clothing, at about £800 a coat

I'm not going to argue further, you're right, we are both entitled to our views. I just thought yours came across as a tad on the snobbish side.
