Hi guys,

Seen the 3.0i SE that I have my eyes on currently. Just wondering if you guys can give me advice on a vareity of things.... or to look out for :tumbleweed:

Servicing Cost
Tax
Insurance
COST (tyres, pad, discs etc)

and everything else.

And one last thing just want to know if it's a thrill to drive the 3.0i?

Even if you don't have a 3.0 i would much like you views to! Thanks alot

Kev
:P

Hi Kev
3.0 is a good choice and a great balance between cost of ownership and performance.
You'll find servicing is not expensive as the Zed is not an exotic car and you'll likley be able to fing a good indy at well less than dealer cost
Tyres would be about £800 a set for run flats and about £400 if tyuoconverted to normal tyres Pads say £100. Discs - not sure of OEM but I just did a set of EBC performance for £400.

Insurance - no idea purely based upon age and location so just punch your details into gocompare.com Tax around £210 but who knows where that goes next?

Yes - they are a thrill to drive with ample performance on tap but a capable an livable daily drive or distance cruiser

When you say you have you eyes on one I suggest you post details and others will value it for yuo. also consider the options - they make the dealbe it xenons, heated seats, sports seats, wheel style, etc. etc.

All z4's are probably thrilling to drive and I love my 3.0

I don't find the running costs too prohibitive - especially if you find a good indy :D

Lots of checks and things to look for...

I'm starting a 3.0 buyers guide very slowly, just pointing out what I learnt when looking/buying mine, as there are LOTS of details... lots are not that important when it comes down to it as a machine for driving, but still nice to know :)

I wouldn't worry much about running costs too much, only if something big goes wrong, but even then the engine/parts are fairly common.

Ie, my starter is clearly a bit slow to disengage when cold and you can hear it kinda grind for half a second feintly as the drive isn't retracting smoothly... I'll just remove the starter, break down, rebuild and sorted... easy job on the straight sixes too :D

Thanks for getting back to me

Well I have £13000 to spend on a Z4 3.0l. I know I can get good car for that price.
Having looked on Pistonheads there is a lot for cheaper.

if you could send me links or you are thinking of getting rid of yours. Let me know

Thanks
