Getting iPhone for Zed

Not entirely for the Zed but for me :)

I have been looking at Dension and intravee, and I think I will be getting the intravee kit. But does the intravee charge the iphone?

Abit annoyed about the BMW adapter kit not fitting the Zed too I was really looking forward to plugging something into that centre pop down bit.

Do you not have F/F Bluetooth then ??

F/F = factory fit
If you have it then you need a new tray for the drop down arm panel and the iPhone snap in cradle will then fit and you have
charging and alleged increase sensitivity from an aerial connection and somewhere to park it

i was told by my dealer just recently that an Iphone snap in cradle for the Z4 does not exist.

Nope, it doesn't. There is a converter I believe.

I didn't bother integrating the iPhone to the intravee, it was much cheaper/easier to just buy a second hand iPod that does charge and leave that connected up 24/7.

I've never been able to get to the bottom of it - are all the snap-in's the same?

For example, this one looks like it'd fit: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/132074-3g-iphone-adaptor-installed-3.html

This looks like the right part: http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,304842/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,21/

I'm very sure the snap in cradle is too big for the Z4?

Read my post ...yes the iphone cradle is Too big for the the existing ...factory fitted (F/F) Bluetooth installation .
BMW sell a revised tray which replaces the F/F one and the iPhone snap-in fits that.Certainly for the facelift Z4 can't advise for pre facelift

Wrong
I know, I have had it done and the parts are genuine BMW from my local Dealer

wegras, do you have a part number as this is something I have wanted to do but was told just about 3 weeks ago such a part did not exist... :(

The P/n on invoice is
B84.21.2.153.098 Eject Box replaces the original fitted with the BlueTooth installation
B84.21.2.158.682 Adapter which should be the iPhone 3G/S snap-in

I realised after my previous post that you are in US maybe not available but clearly exists in Europe so should be obtainable

Good luck
I have the original Iphone and will be eligible for cheap upgrade in June I think to 3 G/s or even the 4 G when it come out so I may need to wait just a while if the adapter does not work for my older model.

Lets hope the "4G " has the same form factor as the 3G/S or it will be another wait for a new cradle and another defunct adapter :headbang:

yup, available on ebay.

Old ipod chargers do not charge iphones and vice versa, but there are adaptors.

I used an old ipod and keep it in the boot all the time, a cheaper option ;)

I just had the iPhone prep kit installed into my 06 and everything fit perfectly! They replaced the oddments door with the adapter and the 3Gs adapter just snapped in. It all works perfectly as does the phone. The entire cost was $291.00 US.
