I've had my top down for sunny drives every weekend since I got the car...

A hardtop just seems excessive, because it's never THAT bad in the uk to not just let the soft top take the brunt of the weather when it is bad...

Just look at it today (I'm in Leeds), sunny and lovely. Drove to work with the roof down, will drive to lunch with it down, and drive home with it down if it doesn't rain!

The weather is showing some signs of some top down action. Will it hold out until I finish work or maybe even dinner time................

I got the hardtop as I don't have a drive or a garage to stick the car in. There has been a few slashed roofs/vandalism etc in the area over the years I have lived here :( Since owning the hardtop it makes me feel like I have two different cars (well in looks anyways) as with the hardtop on it looks totally different to when it is off and the cloth roof is down. A few of my friends and family don't seem to realise that it is a convertible and that another roof hides under the hardtop.

It's a massive pain storing it as it sits in my bedroom at the moment and I have knocked it twice this week and hurt my foot or leg :x

Ignore what I said as it is now snowing :?

LOL that's the UK weather for you. We had major snow here last night, mostly cleared thankfully as I'm taking the Z4 out tonight.

And now in Harrow the Sun is out. I had the top down on the way to work this morning which wouldn't be an option if I had a hard top. British weather is so changeable you need to always be ready to take advantage when the Sun has got his hat on. Sorry I couldn't resist :D

As long as it is not raining it is perfectly acceptable to take the top down. Just turn the heating up!!

Bye bye petrol.

I've tried that but the I read a thread about the heated seats cooking your nuts and making your infertile so the heated test is normally avoided until I produce some children :)

Yep, don't want to overheat the old balls. That is why they hang down in a sack with a fairly large surface area (wrinkly)... :D

"Z4 heated seats in male contraception breakthrough!"

It's 1 degC out there, dark and relatively clear, dryish roads. I'm leaving to go out in 30mins.

Roof down?

Oh yes

:)

I drove back home with the roof down, 4 degC, fairly clear... got home and within the last 1 mile it was white over with hail, glad I wasn't caught out in that storm!

Oh, and had my first "envy" attack I think, some clearly very badly spatially aware pickup driver threw what looked like a maccyD type drink container onto my side of the road. I guess aimed at me but landed about 20m early (didn't have chance to realise and give them the thumbs up for being lame)

Of course it would have been a good chuckle for them had it hit me, and then crashed into a bus stop full of people... grrr... always know it will attract the attention of some bell chomping fool and actually find it kind of funny how people go out of their way for retarded reasons, but don't they realise they could get done (can in the UK now) for death by dangerous driving convictions if their actions result in something nasty, and sent down for tens of years!?

Kinda wish I could just find out who they are and stand and laugh at them like Nelson out of The Simpsons :D

Went home from work with the top down. Sooooooooooo cold!

Worth it but I couldn't feel the top part of my head for 5mins after (sitting too high) I did risk being infertile and put the seats on full power :D

It was actually minus 2 degC but I still put the roof down...

I don't know what the temp was yesterday, but it was damn cold! I had the heated seats on, the heating on full and a coat with the lining of chewbacca on. I still was shivering but wouldn't give into the weather and drove about 15miles home (mostly on the M62) with the top down :D

It was bloomin freezing this morning, -2.5, meaning the office was 16.5 when I got in
It's now bright sunshine and the office is 25.5 :fuelfire: absolutely useless aircon we have :headbang: and I got a phone call a couple hours ago, my hardtop is ready to be picked up

I think the weather has a sense of humour  (not necessarily a good one)

Glad I am not the only nutter...Norfolk tomorrow afternoon all the way with the top down...we shall see

Cleaned and re-sealed the roof with the autoglym pack last night...roof looks great now!

Stop being a girl, put on a fleece and scarf + hat and with heated seats 5C outside is fair game so long as the sun is out a little

You too can get funny looks like me but its so much more fun driving al fresco :driving:

Night driving in the summer months can also be good fun scudding along the coast taking in the breeze :driving:
