Get thee top off...

You wouldn't want to hit them if you can avoid them Andy - I've hit pigeons, pheasants, owls, rabbits and deer over the years (note to self: stop driving in the fields...) Pigeons tend to pop, cause a mess but little damage. Pheasants break spoilers/lips/grills, rabbits the same. Deer, however, take out the whole wing, headlight and bonnet!

My sister managed to hit a sheep in a capri at around 40mph - wrote the car off!

Not always true, wife hit a pigeon after it rebounded off an oncoming lorry at 60 mph in her mini cooper S. Due to where it impacted, right on the crease of the bonnet next to the air intake, the approx 12 inch dent couldn't be properly fixed. New bonnet and £1000 cost in total... Guess thats why we have insurance.

No Andy it was standard.. On pre facelift the whole circle lights up in the event of emergency braking and on the facelift the led bars at the top of the rear light unit which normally come on with the headlights light up in the event of emergency braking and maybe the fog lights but I'm not 100% sure

It only works when the car senses emergency braking though.

If you read the manual it talks about it in there
