Bought our E85 2.5 this time last year and just took it for its first MOT.
They have run a geometry check on it as the front tyres were unevenly worn and the lower arm required replacement due to worn bushes. They have said that they have adjusted the rear camber to as close as possible to standard but cannot alter the front camber. They were not able to give me the read outs but hopefully I'll get a copy when I collect the invoice.
The front tyres are worn more on their outer edges than inner edges. It is primarily my wife's car, so does not get driven hard or fast during the week and I don't go mad in it.
The tyres were fitted to the vehicle when we purchased it and I must admit that I did not check whether the tyre wear was even then.
Is this normal for the front tyres to wear out in this way or does it suggest either:
1) The suspension is not correctly aligned?
2) The previous owner has been cornering the car hard?
The garage are angling for me to replace the front tyres due to the uneven wear and also the rears as they are a winter tyre. I've told them that I'l not be replacing the tyres unless absolutely necessary due to them costing over £120 each.
