CSL seems to be so iconic now.
Wheels needs refurbish (small, but still) + 5 years old tires

If you knew the true value of them. You wouldn’t comment.

Seems you are fan of communism & political correctness. For now we still have freedom of speech mate.

I know what they value is. Especially with those old tires.

Do you even know what communism and political correctness are? PC is nothing to do with this, and you mean "authoritarianism" which can be left or right wing, not communism which can - in theory at least - be democratic.

We have freedom of speech subject to the laws of the land, and the rules of the forum, and freedom as speech works both ways as few people who bang on about it seem to realise.

Anyway, I am not an expert on what these wheels are worth... but I would not be surprised if there are people out there who want the best condition, factory finish (not refurbed) set they can get, and these might be the best value set for sale in the country right now. "Find another one" is the phrase.

How about the brand new, never used set, with never used Michelins, for just under £4k on ebay?

The "brand new" wheels that he fitted to his car? They do look better and more expensive than this set. Maybe better value too.

Edit - they look more expensive and worse and worse value.

I messaged that seller asking him to change his listing as those wheels have been refurbed multiple times judging by the unclear writing that these have on the front of the wheels after many refurbs. The tyre dates are random and didn’t match with the description of when he purchased everything either so be careful if you do go for those.

The set in the original post is a good price considering you can’t buy the fronts new anymore in that size and these haven’t been refurbed.

Good spot... You are making OPs listing look better by the minute!

Just downloaded photos from both listings so I could zoom in, and it's night and day. Ebay seller at £4k is dodgy as. People who don't understand what "brand new" means are generally to be avoided at all costs, but I hadn't spotted what you had. Maybe the closest thing to the truth is when he says "never been refurbished"... does painting yet another layer of paint over the last one count as a refurb, surely if you want to claim to have refurbed you need to do proper preparation first? They've been repainted not refurbed!

I also note that ebay guy's photos are not that high resolution compared to OP's... I am sure there's a lot more potential for bad surprises in person if you went for the ebay set.

So we’ve had people wading in on this saying they are available new. And guess what, they are not!
Then someone else saying a set on eBay for £4K are better value. Guess what, they are not!
People need to get their facts straight before annihilating someone’s sales add.

Yeah right, the market knows the value of them....unsold because? :o

This is a real shame, second for sale post recently that’s gone this way.
Generally this is an excellent forum with loads of really very helpful people.

Yep quite enjoyed being here. Kind of glad to see the back of it now to be honest. You got guys on here that have made 10 posts then want to start slating peoples stuff. Greatful for all the help and advice I’ve had over the years and wish all the genuine people on here the best for the future 👍🏻

Very disappointing..so common these days to piss on folks bonfires for no other reading than they can…

No wonder so many folks just quietly leave the forum..

As a fairly new member the rules need clarifying.

IMHO posters who make incorrect claims (negative or positive) should hold their hands up and apologize, or face sanction. But on the other hand if there's something I want at a fair price I'm not going to allow one or two posters to convince me that it's somehow a rip-off and not to buy it - sellers should realize that we buyers know our own minds and won't walk away from a good purchase simply because of negative comments (unless they are defamatory lies about how seller is a fraudster). And surely the purpose of a community is for everyone, and "everyone" includes the people on here who are considering a set of wheels like this and who want to pay a fair price , not just sellers?

Posters need to recognize that some things are relatively unique and asking a strong price and waiting for the right buyer is perfectly legitimate.

OP, you could edit your original post to remove text and photos

I'm happy to apologise, as apparently the more expensive set on ebay are not as great as they seem, so my comment about those was not correct (I'm assuming that the poster who raised this is correct).

It works both ways though, and OP is still claiming that his are the cheapest set of genuine CSL's on ebay, even though there is another set on there for £1,500 less.

As was pointed out about my claim that there was a better set available for £4k, many sellers are not entirely truthful or accurate in their descriptions, and one of the benefits of buying through the forum is that these incorrect claims can be called out.

The fact that my comments about the £4k set were checked by another member, and corrected with further information, shows that the system works.

I'm a bit surprised at the implication that others are quietly leaving the forum because of me, but if that's the case then I'm happy to pipe down

Perhaps it was the cheapest set on eBay when he advertised them.
Lots of people on this thread have been out of order. Looking for problems that don’t exist and getting a kick out of it.
Shame really

Another sad example where etiquette is now better on some FB pages then here

If the seller asked for feedback it’s ok to comment constructively

Just pisses me off that folks can’t help being negative and churlish

Succinctly put! Fb warriors need not apply!
Shame to see you go and great news you sold the wheels.
