General Tire

Good afternoon all,

Finally getting round to changing my run flats.

I'm after a decent tyre, no need to be top of the range as only cover around 3k a year.

Spoke with one garage who recommended General Tire (owned by Continental). has anyone any experience of these? are they any good?

Not sure i follow your logic on tyres vs mileage. :?

MPS4a are possibly the best tyre on a Z4. Cost is aa relative thing.

Was thinking the same tbh.
I would have thought less miles per year would make a top notch tyre just as practical.
After all, every tyre has a finite life and it would be a shame to save a bit of money by having lesser grip and performance, then bin it because it got old but still with tread on.
Get a good tyre that may wear a little quicker but for the 4 or 5 years its on the car you can drive it to its limits and not waste anything.

Classic dealer move to advertise a car with new, matching tyres, but then skimp on the tyres themselves.

Really shooting yourself in the foot trying to sell a car for nearly £14k and not even stumping up for mid range tyres like kumhos at least!

Or stick premium ones on and increase the ask by £250. Instead of the opposite where someone who knows what they’re looking for with a car like this will bid £500 less to immediately change the tyres

Michelin pilot sport 4s now on.

Such a better drive compared to the run flats.

So glad I changed.

That’s what is just put on mine too, difference is amazing. Had to drop the psi a few pounds but after that
