general iphone bluetooth problems

hi guys,
tried to pair my iphone 4s to my bluetooth system on my 2006 Z4MC but i couldn't manage it. it was asking for the code on my phone but i don't know how to find out the code?

the instruction book says it should be in the literature that comes with my car but i can't find anything?

any hints or tips? i asked at the bmw service centre today but they just said my phone was too new to work with it. i don't believe that's the case as they seemed to want to pair but i just didn't know what the code was, i tried 0000 but that didn't work :headbang:

is there a way of re-setting the code in the menu system?

If you don't have the card with the manuals, it's written on the module itself although by all accounts a bit of a bugger to get to. Have a look in the books to see if the previous owner did the sensible thing and wrote it down in case the business card sized card with the code went missing

I can confirm a 4S does work, I'm using one. You might have to delete all existing pairings to get it to pair though. The procedure is in the book.

Tapatalking...

What he said ^^^^^^...
Mine was written on the inside cover of the "Operating Instructions for Universal Mobile Phone Provision" manual

It is a white card which I normally kept with the service manual, you have checked the folder for the "passcode" ?

Mine was in the DVD case of my satnav disc..

option 1: if missing in all the literature... read it off the ULF module in the boot... pull the boot carpet away and its attached to the firewall.
option 2: Dealer/ independent with reader can read the code off the car... but will prob charge for this privileged.
option 3:

Try calling the previous owner?

Thanks lads that's what I figured, unfortunatly there is no card or number written down anywhere in the service/manuals/history.

Is it a four digit code?

I had the same problem a few years ago, went to the dealer & they plugged it in to computer & retreved code £20 if i remember.

Well, I hate to admit it but I had a "proper look" through the cars history, & there was another leather case which I thought was just some bumf from sytners-but low & behold it was in there.

Happy days
