Gender related insurance

i can't imagine the price for men will come down so i can only think it will be more expensive for women, the insurance companies will make even more money

I'm dreading my renewal this year. It's expensive enough as it is!

It's a complete farce. The statistics show that men have worse accidents in comparison to women.

There are companies that have better premiums for people over 50. Is the EC going to get rid of that discount too, and make older people pay more?!!

This needs to go to appeal. I'm obviously speaking as a woman. :x

Why would they do that?
The insurers will just increase womens' premiums, and state they were 'forced' to. Making extra money for no increased risk..

As much as they pretend to be bothered, behind the scenes they are laughing all the way to the bank, I bet the party's are already being planned. :headbang:
 
I don't think that's true. Insurers are bothered. Look at the money some of them have ploughed into brands designed for women. This has been on the cards for years and it was not a welcome thought. Rates are reviewed constantly so the current rating structures are not based on historic data. This will really only have a big effect on young drivers as the gap closes further up the age scale.

As for fraud, a lot of money is spent trying to combat insurance fraud and many initiatives are in place. Currently the cost of insurance fraud is about £50 on everyones policy.

I agree that age will be next under the spotlight. A ridiculous decision IMO.

But that doesn't mean I'm a bad driver... it means I know how to rag it :lol: (But I must learn to look out for undercover coppers when I do :oops: )

Oh good well hopefully my renewal won't be too bad in June then.
